Thunderbolts

Thunderbolts is a 2025 Marvel Studios superhero action adventure film directed by Jake Schreier. The movie brings together several morally complicated characters from earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe stories, including Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. Rather than presenting a conventional team of perfect heroes, the film focuses on damaged outsiders struggling with loneliness, guilt, identity and redemption.

Movie Story

Yelena Belova and several other operatives are sent on missions connected to CIA director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. They eventually discover that Valentina has placed them inside a deadly trap intended to remove evidence of her secret activities. Forced to work together, the group encounters a mysterious man named Bob and becomes involved in a dangerous conflict that could threaten countless lives.

As the mission develops, the characters must confront painful memories, personal failures and the consequences of their previous actions. Their survival depends not only on fighting a powerful enemy but also on overcoming their distrust of one another. The story combines large-scale action with a more personal examination of trauma, friendship and whether deeply flawed people can still become heroes.
