Saturday Night

Jason Reitman structures the film almost like a countdown thriller. The audience already knows that Saturday Night Live eventually became one of television's longest running comedy institutions, but the movie creates tension by showing how uncertain its first broadcast supposedly felt in the hours immediately beforehand.
