Main Cast

The returning family and Deshmukh characters give the finale continuity with the earlier films, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj introduce additional dramatic possibilities.

Ajay Devgn Returns As Vijay Salgaonkar

Vijay Salgaonkar remains the defining character of the Hindi series. Ajay Devgn’s restrained performance has made Vijay unusual among thriller protagonists because his greatest strength is not physical power but observation, patience, memory, and an ability to anticipate how other people will behave.

The newly announced title makes the stakes clearer. This is being promoted as Vijay’s final chapter, suggesting that the movie will have to confront consequences that the previous installment could postpone.

Tabu And Shriya Saran Return

Tabu returns as Meera Deshmukh, whose history with Vijay makes her one of the franchise’s most important characters. Shriya Saran also returns as Nandini Salgaonkar, keeping the family relationship at the center of the story.

Rajat Kapoor is again credited as Mahesh Deshmukh, while Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav return as Vijay and Nandini’s daughters.

This continuity matters because Drishyam has always depended on viewers remembering what each character knows, suspects, and believes.

Jaideep Ahlawat And Prakash Raj Join The Conflict

The cast becomes even stronger with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj. Current credits identify Ahlawat as Rajeev Singh Tomar and Prakash Raj as Indrajith Shetty. Their precise importance to the final mystery is best left unspoiled until the film arrives.

Adding two experienced dramatic performers gives Abhishek Pathak more room to create pressure around Vijay without simply repeating the confrontations of the previous films.

Direction And Writing

Abhishek Pathak, who directed Drishyam 2, returns to direct the finale. He also shares screenplay credit with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.

The film traces its underlying story lineage to filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, creator of the original Malayalam Drishyam series.

Pathak’s challenge with the finale is substantial. The series depends heavily on information being revealed at exactly the right moment, so resolving Vijay’s story requires maintaining suspense without merely reproducing the structure audiences already know.

Production And Technical Team

Drishyam is produced by Panorama Studios and presented by Star Studio18. The production team includes Ajit Andhare, Alok Jain, Abhishek Pathak, and Kumar Mangat Pathak.

Sudhir K. Chaudhary handles cinematography, Sandeep Francis serves as editor, and IMDb currently credits Ravi Basrur as composer.

These technical roles are particularly important for Drishyam, where editing, visual clues, chronology, and withheld information are central to how the mystery works.

Why October 2 Matters

October 2 is more than a convenient release date. In the original Hindi Drishyam, Vijay constructs a detailed alibi around events supposedly occurring on October 2. The date became so closely associated with the franchise that references to it regularly return in Indian popular culture and social media.

Releasing the final chapter on October 2, 2026 therefore gives the date another deliberate connection to Vijay Salgaonkar’s story.

Release Date

Drishyam will release theatrically on October 2, 2026.

The date was initially announced for Drishyam 3 in December 2025, and the August 2026 title reveal confirmed that the final film would retain the October 2 release.

Budget And Box Office

An official production budget for Drishyam has not yet been publicly disclosed. Current industry listings continue to mark the budget as unannounced.

Likewise, there are no box office earnings yet because the film is scheduled for release on October 2.

Budget: Not officially disclosed
Box Office: Not available before theatrical release

Publishing these as unknown is preferable to presenting unverified budget estimates as facts.

Movie Story

Drishyam has a difficult but fascinating job: ending a story built around the idea that the audience never possesses quite as much information as Vijay Salgaonkar.

Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and the Salgaonkar family return, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj strengthen an already experienced ensemble. With Abhishek Pathak directing again, the October 2 release is designed to bring the Hindi franchise back to the date that has followed Vijay’s story from the beginning.
