Watch Rahu Ketu Movie (2026)

Rahu Ketu is a 2026 Hindi fantasy comedy written and directed by Vipul Vig, bringing Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma together as the title characters Ketu and Rahu. Shalini Pandey joins them as Meenu Taxi, while Piyush Mishra, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial and Manu Rishi Chadha fill out the supporting cast. The film was produced by BLive Productions and Zee Studios and released theatrically in India on January 16, 2026.

Its central idea is deliberately unusual. Rahu and Ketu are characters created inside writer Churu Lal Sharma’s mystical notebook. Once they come to life, their attempts to do good rarely go as planned. The movie uses this magical premise for an energetic mixture of comedy, fantasy and adventure rather than treating the astrological names Rahu and Ketu literally. Tinyzone readers looking for similar titles can browse the site’s Movies collection and its Comedy movies.

Rahu Ketu Movie Story

Churu Lal Sharma is struggling when the characters from his magical notebook begin taking on lives of their own. Rahu and Ketu emerge as two naïve figures intended to do something useful, but their unpredictable behaviour repeatedly creates new problems.

Meenu Taxi changes their situation by gaining possession of the notebook. Because the book has power over the world from which Rahu and Ketu came, recovering it becomes essential.

Their search pushes the pair through a sequence of strange situations and introduces them to characters including Foofa, Mordechai and Deepak Sharma. What initially appears to be a simple search gradually becomes a larger test of whether Rahu and Ketu can stop behaving like characters controlled by someone else’s writing and make meaningful decisions for themselves.

The result is intentionally absurd rather than realistic. The supernatural notebook gives the filmmakers freedom to move between fantasy and comedy while keeping Rahu and Ketu’s friendship at the centre.

Pulkit Samrat As Ketu

Pulkit Samrat plays Ketu, one half of the movie’s central partnership. His character is tied closely to Rahu, but the comedy works because the two do not behave exactly alike.

The role also reunited Samrat with Varun Sharma after their previous work together. Instead of repeating an earlier film’s characters, Rahu Ketu puts their established comic chemistry into a fantasy setting where almost anything can happen.

Varun Sharma As Rahu

Varun Sharma plays Rahu and provides much of the film’s confused, spontaneous humour. Rahu’s mistakes frequently complicate the pair’s journey, but his good intentions prevent him from becoming merely a joke character.

The friendship between Rahu and Ketu is consequently more important to the movie than the supernatural concept by itself. Their contrasting reactions to unusual situations give the story its comic rhythm.

Shalini Pandey As Meenu Taxi

Shalini Pandey plays Meenu Taxi, the character whose possession of the magical notebook changes Rahu and Ketu’s lives.

Rather than functioning simply as a conventional romantic character beside the two male leads, Meenu is directly connected to the mechanism driving the story. Apple TV’s official synopsis specifically identifies her taking control of the notebook as the event that sends Rahu and Ketu into their larger adventure.

Director And Creative Team

Vipul Vig both wrote and directed Rahu Ketu. Tasha Bhambra and Sparsh Khetarpal contributed additional dialogue. Umesh Kumar Bansal, Suraj Singh and Varsha Kukreja are credited as producers, with Zee Studios and BLive Productions behind the film.

The official trailer credits Manoj Soni as director of photography, Manann A. Sagar as editor and Udai Prakash Singh as production designer. Sanjoy Chowdhury created the background score. The soundtrack involves several composers, including Vikram Montrose, Tarsh Srivastava, Abhijit Vaghani, Abhinav Shekhar and Mattoo Bros. Readers who want to verify the production credits can consult the film’s IMDb credits or the official CBFC record.

Rahu Ketu Release Date

Rahu Ketu was released theatrically in India on January 16, 2026. Zee Studios had already confirmed this date through its official teaser and trailer campaign before release. IMDb and Bollywood Hungama subsequently recorded the same theatrical date.

Production had begun during 2025, and the completed film reached cinemas at the beginning of the following year.

Rahu Ketu Budget

Published reports generally place the production budget at approximately ₹20-25 crore, but this figure should be treated as an industry estimate rather than a formally disclosed studio budget. No audited production-cost statement from Zee Studios or BLive Productions was found in the sources checked for this page.

For Tinyzone, the technically safer presentation is:

Estimated Budget: ₹20-25 crore

rather than presenting one exact figure as officially confirmed.

Rahu Ketu Box Office

The movie did not become a major theatrical earner. IMDb currently records a worldwide gross of $34,783, although international databases may not contain every Indian theatrical transaction and therefore should not automatically be treated as a complete final worldwide total.

This is another area where Tinyzone should identify the source or use wording such as “reported box office” rather than combining figures from different trackers.

Music

Music plays an important role in the movie’s colourful comic identity. The official credits name Vikram Montrose, Tarsh Srivastava, Abhijit Vaghani, Abhinav Shekhar, Mattoo Bros and Dilip Suthar among the music contributors. Singers associated with the soundtrack include Piyush Mishra, Sukhwinder Singh, Armaan Malik, Raja Kumari, Simar Kaur and others.

What Makes Rahu Ketu Different?

The magical notebook is the movie’s most distinctive element. Rahu and Ketu are not simply two ordinary friends who stumble into trouble. They are fictional creations trying to function in a world beyond the pages that originally defined them.

That gives the film room to play with fate, luck and personal choice while remaining a broad comedy. Even the title draws on familiar names from Indian astrological tradition, although the characters themselves belong to Vipul Vig’s fictional comic story. The production also uses fantasy visuals and exaggerated costumes to make the world feel deliberately removed from everyday reality.

Critical Reception

Reviews were mixed to negative. Rotten Tomatoes currently collects reviews from publications including Firstpost, The Hollywood Reporter India and Filmfare. Several critics praised aspects of the unusual premise but argued that the humour and pacing were inconsistent.

That distinction is useful for an informational Tinyzone page. The film’s concept and cast may interest viewers who enjoy broad Hindi comedies, while its critical reception shows that professional reviewers were much less enthusiastic about how consistently the idea worked. Readers can check the aggregated critic reviews for additional perspectives.
