Batman Begins
Bruce Wayne grows up as the heir to one of Gotham City’s wealthiest families, but the murder of his parents permanently changes the direction of his life. As an adult, Bruce leaves Gotham and spends years trying to understand criminals, fear, and injustice from outside the protected world in which he was raised.
His journey eventually brings him into contact with Henri Ducard and the mysterious League of Shadows. Ducard teaches Bruce combat, discipline, stealth, and the importance of using fear against an opponent.
Batman Begins is a 2005 superhero action film directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. Instead of beginning with Batman already established as Gotham City’s protector, the movie spends substantial time showing how Bruce’s childhood trauma, years of travel, training, and ideas about fear gradually shape the identity he creates.
The film marked a major cinematic reset for Batman. DC describes it as the beginning of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, followed by The Dark Knight in 2008 and The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. Short Movie Story
Batman Begins remains one of the defining superhero origin films of the 2000s. Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale turn Bruce Wayne’s transformation into a story about fear, justice, discipline, corruption, and personal responsibility rather than simply showing the arrival of a costumed hero.
With Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Katie Holmes, Morgan Freeman, and Ken Watanabe surrounding Bale, the movie built a version of Gotham strong enough to support an entire trilogy.
Its 140-minute runtime, reported $150 million budget, approximately $356.8 million worldwide box office, and Academy Award nomination for Wally Pfister’s cinematography also show the scale and impact of the production.

Saturday Night
Jason Reitman structures the film almost like a countdown thriller. The audience already knows that Saturday Night Live eventually became one of television's longest running comedy institutions, but the movie creates tension by showing how uncertain its first broadcast supposedly felt in the hours immediately beforehand. Rotten Tomatoes describes the film as the true-story-inspired account of the 90 minutes leading to SNL's first broadcast.
