Here for Blood

Here for Blood is a Canadian American horror comedy directed by Daniel Turres and written by James Roberts. The film takes an unusual setup, a professional wrestler covering his girlfriend’s babysitting job, and turns it into an energetic mixture of home-invasion horror, supernatural mystery, comedy, and action.

Shawn Roberts leads the movie as Tom O’Bannon, a struggling wrestler who expects a simple evening looking after a young girl named Grace. Instead, unexpected visitors turn the house into the centre of a much stranger confrontation.

The film played on the festival circuit in 2023 before receiving a U.S. theatrical and digital release through Cineverse on February 9, 2024. Apple TV lists the commercially released version at 1 hour 40 minutes.

Movie Story

Tom does not begin the evening looking for trouble. His girlfriend is busy with exams, and covering her babysitting shift seems like an easy way to help while bringing in some extra money. Grace quickly proves capable of keeping Tom entertained, and the unlikely pair begin forming a friendly connection.

Then unfamiliar people appear at the isolated property. Tom realizes that their arrival is not random. Grace is the reason they are there, and protecting her suddenly becomes much more important than completing an ordinary babysitting shift. The movie initially uses the confined house to create tension, but its story gradually expands beyond the assumptions Tom makes when the trouble begins.
