Just Breathe
The film follows Nick Bianco (Kyle Gallner) a man release after a year behind bars for assault. Emerging from prison with a fierce determination to rebuild his life, Nick’s singular focus is reuniting with the woman he loves. But the fresh start he envisions quickly crumbles when he discovers a new complication his parole officer, Chester (Shawn Ashmore) is not just tasked with monitoring him. Chester has developed a personal interest in Nick’s girlfriend, putting Nick in a dangerous bind.
Just Breathe is a psychological thriller with neo noir undertones, design to keep the audience lock in suspense from beginning to end. It blends the intensity of personal drama with the edge of crime driven storytelling. Unlike action heavy thrillers this film leans into psychological tension, paranoia and emotional claustrophobia, creating a story that feels raw and unsettling.
But Nick’s path to redemption takes a dangerous turn when he discovers that Chester (Shawn Ashmore) not only his girlfriend’s new admirer but also his assigned parole officer stands directly in his way. This unsettling love triangle blurs the line between personal desire and professional duty, leading to escalating psychological tension.

Saturday Night
Jason Reitman structures the film almost like a countdown thriller. The audience already knows that Saturday Night Live eventually became one of television's longest running comedy institutions, but the movie creates tension by showing how uncertain its first broadcast supposedly felt in the hours immediately beforehand. Rotten Tomatoes describes the film as the true-story-inspired account of the 90 minutes leading to SNL's first broadcast.
