Yadang: The Snitch
In Seoul’s neon lit back alleys where cartels, club owners and chaebol heirs quietly trade favors “yadang” are the most valuable currency of all professional informants who sell secrets to whichever side pays in protection. The best among them is Ji-hoon (Kang Ha Neul) a calm, razor smart fixer who knows how to disappear into a crowd and reappear with exactly the intel a case needs. He keeps three burner phones, five names and one rule: never get sentimental.
In Seoul’s glittering nightlife and shadow economies, a veteran informant known as a yadang is force to outmaneuver cops, prosecutors and a surgically precise cartel tactician after a high society drug raid triggers a citywide hunt for the one person who can expose a conspiracy him.
“Yadang” are not snitches in the usual sense they are freelancers in an information market. Ji hoon (Kang Ha Neul) is the best paid in favors, protect by nobody. When an elite after party explodes into a televised raid the fallout traps chaebol heirs, a rising prosecutor and a cartel logistics chief (Park Hae Joon). The narrative frames the yadang as a professional class with its own codes, cashflow and kill fees until those rules stop working.
